WARRINGTON is the best place in the UK to take your driving test.
The town has a 54 percent overall pass rate and a 55.2 percent first attempt pass rate.
This is revealed in new research from driving education company Zutobi based on five factors – the overall pass rate, the first attempt pass rate, the first attempt with zero faults, accidents per 100,000 people and average speed on local A roads.
Warrington’s performance gave the town an overall score of 84.47, ahead of Bournemouth, who came second with an overall pass rate of 52.8 percent, a first attempt pass rate of 52.3 percent and an overall score of 80.58.
More than 1.5m driving tests are taken each year – although 2020 fell well below this and this year also looks likely to be down with tests suspended and driving lessons also not able to take place.
Warrington’s position at the top of the table would have been even more secure but for the accident rate of 169 per 100,000 people. Bournemouth’s rate was only 50 per 100,000.
But Warrington was unlucky not to scoop top spot for first attempt passes with zero faults. Warrington’s pass rate was 2.69 percent while the best was Nottingham with 2.76 percent.
