PLANNING chiefs at Warrington have given approval for alterations to a historic barn at Appleton.
The Listed Dove Barn, in Stretton Road, has already been converted for residential use and planners say much of the original character of the building has been lost.
As a result, the relatively modern, single storey extension proposed will not have a negative cumulative impact on its setting. It will replicate other local buildings, using traditional materials and architectural detailing.
Planners believe the changes, including two sets of bi-fold doors and re-arrangement of internal walls, will not distract from the significance of the building.
