THE Warrington flood appeal fund launched by the local business community has received a major boost with Eddie Stobart Ltd. match-funding the £7,500 raised so far.
Eddie Stobart Ltd posted on the crowfunding page: “Well done for reaching the target and supporting people in the town. Eddie Stobart would like to donate the target of £7,500 in support of people hit by the terrible flooding over the last 72 hours.”
With more than 100 people in the town having to be evacuated from their homes organisers of the Warrington Business Awards event set up a fundraising page for those in need.
The fundraising initiative was set up by local solicitor Danny Hudson and Callum Morgan from Morgan Branding who said at the time: “Following the upsetting scenes of the flooding that has decimated the homes of many vulnerable and elderly people in the town we have created a platform under the umbrella of Warrington Business Awards so that people unaffected by the flooding can help those in need.
