Seven more deaths at Warrington Hospital as town’s COVID-19 death toll climbs to over 400

SEVEN more COVID-19 related deaths have sadly been reported at Warrington Hospital, as the town’s death toll climbed to over 400 since the start of the pandemic.

While the number of deaths at Warrington & Halton Hospitals has now reached 362, the total number of Warrington residents who have died within 28 days of a positive COVID test, or have COVID-19 on their death certificate in all settings, including care homes, now totals 401, according to the latest data from Public Health England.
Across the Uk, the total number of deaths was 1,820, a new record high for a second consecutive day.
Meanwhile, new cases are continuing a downward trend for a seventh consecutive day, while 33 patients were discharged in the past 24 hours.

A total of 167 (117) new COVID-19 cases were reported by Public Health England today, Wednesday, taking the total reported in Warrington, since the start of the pandemic, to 14,368 (13,913).
Cases in Warrington for the last seven days, previous days/updates in brackets, are 1,219 (1,268) – 580.4 (603.8) per 100,000 population – showing a downward trend for a seventh consecutive day, since the start of lockdown.

*The highest number COVID-19 positive inpatients during the first wave was on 12th April with 124 patients of which 18 were in ICU.

The total number of deaths in Warrington within 28 days of a positive test reported by Public Health England is currently 365 (362) 173.8 per 100,000 population.
The total number of deaths with Covid-19 on the death certificate in Warrington reported by Public Health England is 401 (383).

Across the UK the daily number of COVID-19 associated UK deaths reported on Wenesday, January 20 was 1,820 (1,610), taking the total number of deaths to 93,290 (91,470).
