THREE more COVID-19 deaths have sadly been reported at Warrington hospital today where inpatient numbers have reached a record high, although new cases have shown a downward trend for a second consecutive day.
A total of 163 (215) new COVID-19 cases were reported by Public Health England , taking the total reported in Warrington, since the start of the pandemic, to 13,656 (13,493).
Cases in Warrington for the last seven days, previous days/updates in brackets, are 1,495 (1,566) – 711.9 (745.7) per 100,000 population – showing a downward trend for a second consecutive day and the third time since the start of lockdown.
But hospital inpatient numbers have climbed to 207, a new high since the start of the pandemic.

The total number of deaths in Warrington within 28 days of a positive test reported by Public Health England is currently 348 (345) 165.7 per 100,000 population.
The total number of deaths with Covid-19 on the death certificate in Warrington reported by Public Health England is 383 (383).
Across the UK the daily number of COVID-19 associated UK deaths reported on Friday, January 15 was 1,280 (1,248), taking the total number of deaths to 87,295 (86,015).
The daily number of lab-confirmed UK cases was 55,761 (48,682), taking the total number to 3,316,019 (3,260,258).
Across the country, there are 37,282 (36,797) patients currently in hospital and 3,672 (3,626) patients in ventilator beds.
