Two men arrested following police chase at Woolston

TWO men were arrested following a police chase at Woolston after a stolen BMW car was allegedly driven at a police vehicle.

Police were alerted at around 10.40 am last Wednesday, 6 January of a black BMW, which had been reported as stolen, travelling on Wier Lane.
The BMW then attempted to perform a U-turn before driving at a police car. Officers then performed a tactical stop on the vehicle.
The two occupants fled on foot but were detained a short while later.
Ryan Ratcliffe, 27, of no fixed abode, was arrested and subsequently charged with handling stolen goods, being concerned in the supply of class A drugs, driving without a licence and insurance.
He was remanded in custody and will appear at Chester Crown Court in March.
An 18-year-old man from Salford, who was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, handling stolen goods, possession of a bladed article and being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs has since been released under investigation.
