Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine rollout starts in Warrington

FORMER Penketh Parish Council Chairman Ann Milling MBE became one of the first recipients of the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine in Warrington earlier today, Friday.

Ann, aged 85, said: “It was actually quite painless and there is nothing that worried me.
“When you’re invited, I would say go ahead!”
She was quickly followed by 82-year-old Peter Jones, from Warrington who said: “I encourage people to come and have it when they are asked. It’s just like having the flu jab”
NHS Warrington Clinical Commissioning Group is working as hard as possible to deliver the COVID-19 vaccine, but the speed of the local rollout does depend upon the supplies of vaccines they receive. They are vaccinating those most at risk first and will contact people when it is their turn.
The latest vaccinations follow on from the rollout of the first Pfizer covid vaccines on December 15.
