One more COVID-19 death and 133 new cases as infection rates return to upward trend

ONE more COVID-19 death has sadly been reported at Warrington Hospital while 133 new cases have been confirmed in the latest daily update, showing a return to increased infection rates in Warrington.

The 133 (110) new cases in Warrington in the latest figures from Public Health England takes the total since the start of the pandemic to 10,278 (10,145).
Cases in Warrington for the last seven days, previous days/updates in brackets, are 583 (535) – 277.6 (254.7) per 100,000 population – showing a return to an upward trend in infection rates over a seven day period.

Covid-19 positive inpatients 122 (119) of which 36 (36) are Warrington residents – of which 13 (12) are in ICU

Total tests with a positive result (inpatients/community/died/discharged) cumulative 3,414 (3,390)
Discharges of positive patients (excluding deaths) cumulative 1078 (1067)
Deaths of Covid-19 positive inpatients cumulative 312 (311)
*The highest number COVID-19 positive inpatients during the first wave was on 12th April with 124 patients of which 18 were in ICU.

The total number of deaths in Warrington within 28 days of a positive test reported by Public Health England is now 310 (310) 147.6 per 100,000 population.
The total number of deaths with Covid-19 on the death certificate in Warrington reported by Public Health England is 361 (361).
