Nine COVID-19 hospital deaths since Christmas Eve and 79 new cases continues upward trend

NINE COVID-19 patients have sadly died at Warrington Hospital since Christmas Eve, while 79 new cases have been confirmed in the town in the latest daily update from Public Health England, continuing an upward trend.

Hospital inpatient numbers and patients in intensive care are also showing signs of being on the increase. A total of 16 patients were discharged since Christmas Eve.
The nine deaths since Christmas Eve include five already reported on warrington-worldwide via NHS England.
The 79 (104) new cases in Warrington in the latest figures from Public Health England takes the total since the start of the pandemic to 9,862 (9,783).
Cases in Warrington for the last seven days, previous days/updates in brackets, are 639 (592) – 304.3 (281.9) per 100,000 population – showing an upward trend in infection rates over a seven day period for a 17th consecutive days.

The total number of deaths in Warrington within 28 days of a positive test reported by Public Health England is now 308 (304) 146.7 per 100,000 population.
The total number of deaths with Covid-19 on the death certificate in Warrington reported by Public Health England is 350 (350).
