WARRINGTON Rylands 1906 missed out on the opportunity to end 2020 on top of the North West Counties League Premier Division table when their Bank Holiday Monday game at Runcorn Town was postponed.

Rylands attempt to regain top spot in the table was thwarted when a referee’s pitch inspection deemed the pitch at Runcorn’s Viridor Community Stadium was unplayable after the overnight snow which fell in the area.
The only unbeaten team left in the division Rylands were top of the table going into the festive fixtures but have slipped to second behind Avro who won their Boxing Day home game against Irlam 5-0.
Not having played a league game since 3rd November, Rylands kick off 2021 with two home league fixtures, welcoming Squires Gate to Gorsey Lane on Saturday for a 3.00pm kick off, while 3rd placed Northwich Victoria are the 7.45pm visitors on Tuesday.
