Four more COVID-19 deaths and 126 new cases reported in Warrington

FOUR more COVID-19 deaths have sadly been reported at Warrington Hospital since yesterday taking the death toll to more than 300 since the start of the pandemic, while 126 new cases have been confirmed in the town in the latest daily update by Public Health England.

The 126 (71) new cases in Warrington in the latest figures from Public Health England takes the total since the start of the pandemic to 9,566 (9,440).
Cases in Warrington for the last seven days, previous days/updates in brackets, are 530 (528) – 252.4 (251.4) per 100,000 population – showing an upward trend in infection rates over a seven day period for thirteen consecutive days.

Covid-19 positive inpatients 103 (111) of which 38 (38) are Warrington residents – of which 8 (9) are in ICU
Total number of tests (inpatients/community) cumulative – 47,188 (46,930)
Total tests with a positive result (inpatients/community/died/discharged) cumulative 3,288 (3,277)
Discharges of positive patients (excluding deaths) cumulative 1041 (1032)

*The highest number COVID-19 positive inpatients during the first wave was on 12th April with 124 patients of which 18 were in ICU.

The total number of deaths in Warrington within 28 days of a positive test reported by Public Health England is 298 (295) 141.9 per 100,000 population.
The total number of deaths with Covid-19 on the death certificate in Warrington reported by Public Health England is 350 (350).

Across the UK the daily number of COVID-19 associated UK deaths reported on Thursday, December 24 was 574 (744), taking the total number of deaths to 69,625 (69,051).
