WARRINGTON’s very own “Mrs Claus” transformed her garden into a special grotto delivering Christmas cheer to 185 children on her estate – and raising £260 for charity.
After previously creating a special Santa Post Box for local children on Edgewater Park, Latchford during the latest lockdown, Mother of two Aimee Coffey decided to transform her garden into a socially distanced grotto.
Assisted by her elf helpers, daughters Amélie 20 months and Lacey 9 months and neighbours Olivia 2 and Emily 11 and her mum as Santa, gifts were handed out to local children in return for donations to Claire House Children’s Hospice.
Aimee decided to set up the special post box and grotto in response to the miserable year during the COVID-19 pandemic, saying: “I just wanted to do something nice for the children on our estate.”
