WARRINGTON Wolves have signed prop Robbie Mulhern from Hull KR, with Luis Johnson going in the opposite direction.

Mulhern, 26, is the club’s third new signing for 2021 and is an England and Ireland international.

He said: “Warrington is a massive club and I’m really happy and privileged to be able to join. I’m really looking forward to meeting all the lads and getting started.

“The Halliwell Jones Stadium is probably one of the best stadiums in the country for Rugby League so to play here every other week is going to be amazing. I can’t wait to get started.”

Leeds-born Mulhern came through the academy at his hometown club, making five first team appearances, as well as turning out for Hunslet and Newcastle on dual-registration.

He moved on to Hull KR in 2016, and has made more than 100 appearances, earning a solitary England cap against France in 2018 and also representing England Knights.

Wolves coach Steve Price said: “I’m excited to welcome Robbie to the Club and for him to strengthen and add depth to our forward pack.

“He’s a big lad with good leg speed and at 26 arrives at a really good age with his best years in front of him.

“I’m looking forward to working with him and seeing him grow as a player to fulfil his potential.”

Meanwhile, Johnson will leave the Halliwell Jones Stadium after three seasons at the club.

He joined from Castleford at the end of 2017 for a fee of £45,000, but leaves with a year left on his contract after making eight first team appearances.
