POLICE are stepping up patrols at Fiddlers Ferry Power Station following a number of recent incidents involving intruders entering the site.
Officers completed a safety induction and had a full tour of the site following concerns that although the site is due to be decommissioned, it is still very much alive.
This site still has major components running. Now following a joint working meeting, Warrington police are now engaging with onsite security to reduce incidents of unauthorised access. In addition, patrols are being stepped up to deter anyone intent on committing crime.
A police spokesperson said: “We thank SSE for their time today and praise their efforts to improve security on site and their commitment to working with us.”
