WARRINGTON and Halton Teaching Hospitals Charity has launched its Christmas fundraiser – one they’re keen to make extra special.
They hope to raise more than ever before for much-needed additional support during an unusual year.
Running until Christmas Eve is the festive “Jingle all the Way” virtual fun run event which aims to cover enough miles to get Rudolph back to Lapland in time for Christmas Eve.
Participants can run, jog, walk, cycle, skip, hop or dance as many miles as possible, in optional fancy dress, to help cover the 2,193 miles between Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals and Lapland.
A spokesperson said: “This is a great event for families to complete together and get into the festive spirit whilst under social distancing restrictions. We hope to raise £2,193 – £1 for each mile of Rudolph’s journey .
“All you need to do to enter as a family/household bubble group or individual is donate a minimum of £5 via our Just Giving page www.justgiving.com/warringtonandhaltonhospitals and put #Xmasevent on your donation and leave your contact details. Make sure you share any photos or videos with us so we can see the festive fun you’ve had. You can do this on social media at @whhcharity with the hashtag #Togetherweareamazing or by emailing [email protected].
“In addition we are running our annual toy appeal. You can help your local hospital by bringing a little something special for our . We’re asking for just one unwrapped donated toy, to the value of £5 for ages birth to 18 years old, and we can accept donations until Friday December 18. It would truly mean the world to our patients.”
