SPIRE Cheshire Hospital, at Warrington, has raised vital funds for charities all over Cheshire, by taking part in a week of random of acts of kindness.
Staff raised £445 for the Cheshire Community Foundation, which earlier this year launched a major campaign to support local charities impacted by the coronavirus pandemic.
Charities supported by the appeal include; St Rocco’s Hospice, Age UK, The Joshua Tree, Cheshire Young Carers, Deafness Support Network, Hampers of Hope, and Claire House Children’s Hospice.
Spire Cheshire staff took part in random acts of kindness, including sending postcards with kind messages to colleagues and purchasing gifts with inspirational quotes to cheer up friends and loved ones.
The fundraising coincided with World Kindness Day – making it the ideal opportunity to inspire kind acts and give to the charities most in need of support.
Andrew Johnson, director of Spire Cheshire Hospital said: “We’re always looking for ways to support our local community, and there are hundreds of great charities throughout Cheshire in urgent need of funding during this difficult time.
“The Cheshire Community Foundation’s Covid Appeal helps the most vulnerable people affected by the pandemic, and the team here at Spire Cheshire had a great time raising money and spreading some joy and kindness around the hospital.”
