Firefighters tackle large unattended bonfire in field

FIREFIGHTERS were called out to tackle a large unattended bonfire in a field at Croft, Warrington, yesterday evening.

One fire crew from Penketh was called out shortly after 5.30pm to tackle a fire in a field in the Main Lane area of Croft in Warrington.
On arrival, the crew found a large quantity of wood well alight.
The fire was not being supervised.
Firefighters extinguished the fire with an extended hose reel jet and were in attendance for more than 40 minutes.
