Male Voice Choir’s video tribute to the fallen

VIDEO: WARRINGTON Male Voice Choir members have recorded a special broadcast via zoom to help raise funds for the North West Poppy Appeal.

The choir’s performance of Songs From The First World War, supported by images of family members who have served their country, feature in the specially produced video.
Put together by Musical Director Russell Paterson, it also includes a moment of silence in tribute to the fallen, along with choir Chairman Bob Williams’ reading of Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae’s In Flanders Fields; evoking powerful memories of the choir’s 2016 Voices Across The Water tour to the battlefields and its performance and wreath-laying at the Menin Gate, Ypres.
The short but powerful video can now be viewed on YouTube (see above) ahead of Remembrance Sunday (8 November) and Remembrance Day on Wednesday 11 November.
As well as paying tribute to the fallen, the video encourages people to support the 2020 North West Poppy Appeal and the work done by the Royal British Legion, all year round, across the region.
