Two in, two out for Warrington Town

WARRINGTON Town have confirmed two new signings and two departures from their squad.

Arriving at Cantilever Park are defenders Eddie Clarke and Phil Edwards, with Clarke making his debut as a half-time substitute in the 3-1 defeat at FC United on Tuesday night.

Clarke, 21, is a left-back who was recently released by Fleetwood Town while Edwards, 34, has made more than 450 appearances in the Football League, notably for Accrington Stanley, Rochdale and Burton Albion.

Leaving the Yellows are recent signing Chris Holroyd and left-back Tom Warren.

Striker Holroyd made two brief substitute appearances while Warren, 20, hasn’t featured this term despite being voted fans’ Player of the Year after a solid debut season.

The Yellows are out of action now for at least a month after the Government’s new lockdown measures brought a halt to non-elite football.
