COVID-19 restrictions left Warrington Hockey Club isolated and unable to play its league fixtures.
But thanks to a few dedicated individuals, the club managed to arrange a mixed game, involving members of the mens and womens 1st and 2nd teams which was no less competitive than a league game.
There were some fantastic fancy dress efforts and brilliant baked goods for the Halloween hockey special.
The two teams held their own and contributed well. Warrington B went 2-0 up in quick succession with goals from 1st team strikers Steph Quayle and Dominic Bain. A third was added by Ben McFadden, prompting Warrington A to hit back through Molly Rudd and Lovey Kang to make the score 3-2.
Warrington B scored a fourth through Alice Cordless, and the pick of the goals came from Warrington A from Kat Heyes with a slick one-two short corner, to make the final score 4-3.
Special mentions to Rebecca Wells and DOG for winning the fancy dress contest and to Thomas Lloyd who both umpired and played in goal.
