Man charged after security guard injured

DETECTIVES have today charged a 25-year-old  man with two counts of theft, dangerous driving and failing to stop at an accident following an incident when a security guard was injured during the early hour of Wednesday morning.

Ian Abley, of Broomhill Close in Liverpool,  has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Warrington Magistrates Court on Friday 30 October.

He was arrested following an incident around 1 am on Wednesday 28 October when a silver transit van containing a number of people entered the grounds of Plastic Omnium on Skyline Drive.
As the group drove off a 23-year-old security guard was injured as he attempted to stop the vehicle going through the gates.
