Eight more COVID-19 deaths reported at Warrington Hospital

EIGHT more COVID-19 positive patients have sadly died at Warrington Hospital since last Friday’s update, with inpatient numbers climbing to 117 with 16 currently in intensive care, as the town moves into a very high-risk tier 3 at midnight tonight.

Meanwhile, 107 (152) new COVID-19 positive cases were reported by Public Health England today, meaning the total number of confirmed cases in Warrington since the start of the pandemic is now 5,179 (5,072).
Cases in Warrington for the last seven days are 795 – 378.5 per 100,000 population.
Latest figures from Warrington & Halton Hospitals updated Monday 26th October 2020 – Friday’s figures in brackets. Figures are not updated at weekends.
Covid-19 positive inpatients 117 (102) – Of which 16 (13) are in ICU
Total number of tests (inpatients/community) cumulative – 30,630 (29,372)
Total tests with a positive result (inpatients/community/died/discharged) cumulative 1,977 (1,830)
Discharges of positive patients (excluding deaths) cumulative 556 (545)
Deaths of Covid-19 positive inpatients cumulative 183 (175)
A total of 40 patients have now died at the hospital in the month of October.
According to the latest data from Public Health England there have now been 189 (189) deaths in Warrington, 90 per 100,000 population.
Across the UK the daily number of COVID-19 associated UK deaths was 102 (151), taking the total number of deaths to 44,998 (44,896).
The daily number of lab-confirmed UK cases was 20,890 (19,790), taking the total number to 894,690 (873,800).
Across the country, there are 7,850 (7,850) patients currently in hospital and 743 (743) patients in ventilator beds.
