Bid to turn former town centre pub into apartments

1

PLANS have been submitted to convert a former Warrington town centre pub into seven one-bedroom apartments.

The scheme which is set to be considered by Warrington Borough Council’s planning committee, involves the disused Prince of Wales pub at the corner of Winwick Street and Scotland Road – formerly known as the Theatre Tavern.
Latterly the building has been used for office purposes.
A Grade 2 Listed building, the pub took its name from a one-time theatre in Scotland Road which was demolished many years ago.
There are no plans to alter the outside appearance of the building.
