Deep seated fire spreads to nearby trees

A DEEP-seated fire on open land at Rixton, Warrington spread to nearby trees before firefighters could reach the scene.
But the blaze in Moss Lane was extinguished by a crew from Warrington Fire Station using a main jet last night.
They pumped water from a nearby lake to put the fire out.
A fire service spokesperson said the outbreak was due to controlled burning which had got out of control.
