Police praise staff as shoplifter caught with £2,000 worth of goods

POLICE have praised staff at Birchwood Shopping Centre after an alleged shoplifter was caught with goods worth over £2,000.

Warrington Police praised staff for “sterling work” in detaining the alleged shoplifter – suspected to be linked to the theft of items to the value of approximately £2000.
Meanwhile in another incident overnight a woman was arrested on Midland Way for alleged Breach of Criminal Behaviour Order.
She has a condition that she must inform the police of her location when they request her to do so due to a concern for her safety.
She Allegedly breached this and was traced on Midland Way – an excellent spot by the Warrington Borough Council CCTV operator who was able to direct patrols to her.
In another incident, officers arrested a male following a road traffic collision in the Orford area last night where the driver made off.
He was arrested for alleged Taking Without Owner’s Consent, Driving Whilst Unfit and Obstructing the Police.
