New COVID-19 test site opens in Warrington as 51 new cases confirmed

A new “walk through” COVID-19 test facility opened in Warrington today as a total of 51 (46) new cases were confirmed in the latest daily figures from Public Health England.

The new pilot site has opened at the Academy Way car park at the rear of the Cineworld multi-screen complex. It compliments regional drive throughs but still has to be booked in advance via the government portal.
Meanwhile the total number of COVID-19 cases reported in Warrington since March is now 2,432 (2,381) 1,158 (1,133.7) per 100,000 population. The seven-day average
as of Sept 23 was 53.6 (56.4).
The latest available figures from Warrington Hospital released today, Wednesday, Sept 30.
Yesterday’s figures in brackets.
Covid-19 positive inpatients 32 (29) – Of which 9 (8) are in ICU
Total number of tests (inpatients/community) cumulative – 24,343 (24,094)
Total tests with a positive result (inpatients/community/died/discharged) cumulative 1,391 (1,384 )
Discharges of positive patients (excluding deaths) cumulative 433 (433)
Deaths of Covid-19 positive inpatients cumulative 143 (143)
The last two COVID-19 related deaths at the hospital were on Sunday. There have been 159 COVID-related deaths reported in Warrington 59.4 per 100,000 popluation.

Across the UK the daily number of COVID-19 associated UK deaths was 71 (71), taking the total number of deaths to 42,143 (42,072) –
The daily number of lab-confirmed UK cases was 7,108 (7,143), taking the total number to 453,264 (434,969).
Across the country, there are 2,049 (2,049) patients currently in hospital and 312 (297) patients in ventilator beds.
