Appeal for witnesses following suspected arson attack on bin

FIREFIGHTERS were called out following a suspected arson attack on a bin at Chapelford, Warrington, yesterday evening.

The incident took place at around 7.15pm when firefighters at Penketh received a report of a fire in the open on Burtonwood Road in Warrington.
On arrival the crew discovered that the fire involved a small rubbish bin.
Firefighters put out the fire with a hose reel jet and were in attendance for more than 10 minutes.
The fire is believed to have been started deliberately.

In another incident, One fire engine from Birchwood attended a fire in a back garden of a property in Poplar Avenue, Orford shortly after 5pm.
On arrival the crew discovered that an occupier was burning garden waste.
Firefighters put out the fire with a hose reel jet and were in attendance for around 20 minutes.
