THE increasing COVID-19 infection rate in Warrington is being reflected at Warrington Hospital where in-patient numbers have jumped from 3-15 in the space of a week, with two in intensive care.
This follows sad reports earlier this week of one additional COVID-19 related death at the hospital.
Covid-19 update at noon on 17th September 2020 (previous week’s figures in brackets)
·The hospital is currently caring for 15 (3) in-patients who have tested positive for Covid-19, of which there are 2 (0) Covid-19 positive patients in ICU
·They have discharged 413 (406) patients and sadly 140 (139) have died
·To date we have tested 21,434 (19,938 ) inpatients/community of which 1,277 (1,227) have tested positive.
·There have been 1,618 (1,619) Emergency Dept. attendances in the last 7 days – 231 ave daily attendance
·There have been 479 (443) Urgent Care Centre attendances in the last 7 days – 69 ave daily attendance
·There have been 52 (50) babies born in the last week
The total number of COVID-19 cases reported in Warrington now totals 1,819 (866.1). There have been another 38 new people with lab-confirmed positive tests reported today.
Across the UK the daily number of COVID-19 associated UK deaths was 21, taking the total number of deaths to 41,705.
The daily number of lab-confirmed UK cases was 3,395, taking the total number to 381,614.
Across the country, there are 988 patients currently in hospital and 124 patients in ventilator beds.
