Warrington clubs find out FA Cup fate

WARRINGTON Town and Warrington Rylands were kept apart in the FA Cup first qualifying round draw.

The Yellows will welcome South Shields to Cantilever Park next Tuesday night, while Rylands face a tricky trip to Whitby Town in their maiden FA Cup campaign.

Rylands booked their place in the draw with a 1-0 win over Clitheroe, who play a level above them in the football pyramid, at the weekend.

Paul Carden’s side beat South Shields in the 2018/19 play-off final, with their only meeting since a 1-1 draw in the north east before Christmas.

The midweek tie is added to a tricky first week of the season for the Yellows, who kick-off away at Basford United on Saturday, before their first home game a week later against Gainsborough Trinity.

The winners of games at this round will receive £2,250 in prize money, with the losers receiving £750.
