PLANNING chiefs have rejected an application to demolish Holcroft House, in Warrington Road, Culcheth and replace it with two detached dwellings.
The scheme was considered by officers under delegated powers – and they decided the proposed development was in the Green Belt and represented inappropriate development harmful to the Green Belt.
Very special circumstances which would justify allowing the development had not been demonstrated, they decided.
The proposal involved demolition of the existing house and building a replacement four-bedroomed house forward of the site, with a second three-bedroomed house on land to the west of the site.
Both properties would have detached garages at the rear.
Two neighbours lodged objections.
