KIND-hearted but often misguided people are offering too much food to wildfowl at a Stockton Heath beauty spot.
As a result, efforts to carry out pest control at Ackers Pit were compromised, members of Stockton Heath Parish Council have been told.
As an alternative to imposing a ban on feeding the birds, works to repair the weir were brought forward and a quotation obtained for the erection of barriers at a cost of £66 per week and installation costs of £360.
Councillors are to discuss a new report from the pest control contractor before deciding on what action to take.
