THE number of new COVID-19 cases reported in Warrington is increasing again, with 35 cases in the past week.

This compares to seven cases reported in the previous week and is back at the levels when local health chiefs warned against complacency last month.
A total of 1,434 cases have now been confirmed in the town, a rate of 682.8 per 100,000 people.
The number of confirmed deaths in the town stands at 139 at Warrington & Halton Hospitals Trust and 106 in local care homes.
The last reported hospital death was on August 24, the last confirmed care home death was July 8.
It is unclear if any of the figures relate to any local outbreaks but Middle Layer Super Output Areas (MSOA) statistics show three cases in the Orford area.

Across the UK the daily number of COVID-19 associated UK deaths was 10, taking the total number of deaths to 41,514.
The daily number of lab-confirmed UK cases was 1,508, taking the total number to 338,676.
There are 797 patients currently in hospital and 82 patients in ventilator beds.
