While Warrington has one of lowest COVID-19 infection rates one more patient sadly dies

WHILE Warrington currently has one of the lowest COVID-19 infection rates in the country one more patient has sadly died at Warrington Hospital in the past week.

With just seven new COVID-19 cases reported in Warrington in the past week (up to August 26) a total of 1,406 cases have now been confirmed in the town, a rate of 669.5 per 100,000 people.
Covid-19 update at Warrington & Halton Hospitals as of noon on 27th August 2020 (previous week’s figures in brackets)
•The hospital is currently caring for 1 (1) in-patient who has tested positive for Covid-19, there are NO (1) Covid-19 positive patient in ICU
•The hospital has discharged 400 (397) patients and sadly 139 (138) have died
•To date they have tested 17,598 (16,436) inpatients/community of which 1,211 (1,209 ) have tested positive.
•There have been 1,534 (1,595) Emergency Dept. attendances in the last 7 days – ave daily attendance 219
•There have been 428 (462) Urgent Care Centre attendances in the last 7 days – ave daily attendance 61
•There have been 68 (45) babies born in the last week (56 this week last year)

Across the UK the daily number of COVID-19 associated UK deaths was 12, taking the total number of deaths to 41,477.
The daily number of lab-confirmed UK cases was 1,552, the highest number since June 12, taking the total number to 30,368.
The total number of people tested in the UK is now 16,273,209 with 767 patients currently in hospital and 64 patients in ventilator beds.
