Severe delays on M6 near Lymm following multi-vehicle collision

THERE were severe delays on the M6 near Lymm on Friday afternoon following a multi-vehicle collision.

The collision occurred at around 2.30pm on the southbound carriageway between junction 20 at Lymm and 19 at Knutsford.
The multi-vehicle collision is believed to have involved two HGVs and two cars.

Five fire engines attended at the scene following reports of a woman who was trapped. She managed to get herself out of the vehicle before being checked by paramedics.

Two lanes of the motorway were closed creating lengthy traffic delays. Both carriageways were reopened around 4pm but queues remained of more than an hour.
