Antique shop to revert to previous use as a dwelling

AFTER years of being a shop and doctor’s surgery, a disused building at Stretton is to return to its original use as a dwelling.
Warrington’s development management committee has approved proposals to change the use of the former antique furniture shop in London Road.
The committee was told the building, known as Pine Surgery and part of Roadside Farm, Stretton, had not been used for some time. Its last use was as an antique furniture shop and workshop.
Stretton Parish Council opposed the change of use.
They acknowledged that the building had previously been a dwelling, but pointed out that traffic on London Road had increased significantly in recent years.
They believed it would require additional parking space and pointed out that the site was within the Green Belt.
But planning officers recommended the scheme be approved..They said there would be no change in the external appearance of the building.
