Lymm Runners return with socially distanced steps

0

LYMM Runners have just returned to the roads and trails around Lymm following the relaxation of lockdown and new guidelines from their governing Athletics bodies.

The club has a strong reputation among other running clubs in the North West for being well organised and devising a safe comeback has been no exception. The main concern is to keep everybody safe, and that of course includes strict social distancing from members of the public they may encounter as well as each other.

Numbers on a Group Run are limited and members can only join the run if they have booked beforehand via the Club website – which also means the Club has the ability to trace. Runners must also arrive with a mask or face covering to hand, in case of having need to ‘mask up’ where necessary: most definitely a rule of ‘no mask, no run.’
Each group run has a Run Leader who, in addition to a first aid kit, now carries hand sanitisers and gloves.

The return in this format has been greatly welcomed and members are enjoying being reunited with friends to enjoy the special spirit that is a Lymm Runners Run.
So if you see Club Runners out and about, do smile and give them a cheery wave.
Please check the website for Group Run and Track Session timings as the regular full timetable is not yet operational.
