Mr Carter said: “I’ve been contacted by a number of concerned residents today who live in nearby Grappenhall Heys, worried about a group of travellers who’ve set up camp”.
“I’ve spoken with the Council and met Cheshire Police this evening at the site, with a view to moving the travellers on as soon as possible”.
“The council have been in touch with the landowner to given them advice on how to deal with the situation and I’m keeping a careful watch on this”.

The encampment is believed to include four Irish families, travellers from Galway and Sligo.
