SEVEN new COVID-19 cases have been confirmed in Warrington in the past 24 hours, taking the total to 20 new cases since last Thursday.

A total of 1,365 Warrington residents have now tested positive, an increase of seven from yesterday.
Warrington Borough Council confirmed earlier this week that seven new cases had been confirmed at two local care homes.
Reporting data on deaths, which stand at 179 for Warrington, can be problematic and difficult because there are different sources that this information is pulled from and it’s not accurate to sum hospital deaths with care home deaths, for example, as deaths occurring in the hospital may not necessarily relate to a Warrington resident.

Across the UK the daily number of COVID-19 associated UK deaths was 8, taking the total number of deaths to 46,574.
The daily number of lab-confirmed UK cases was 1,062 taking the total number to 310,825.
The total number of people tested in the UK is now 13,286,362 with 1,067 patients currently in hospital and 67 patients in ventilator beds.
