Four COVID-19 cases and one death confirmed in Warrington in past 24 hours

FOUR new COVID cases and one new death have been confirmed in Warrington in the past 24 hours, taking the total to 13 new cases in the last three days.

The latest figures come as Public Health England and local health leaders are urging people to wear face coverings to help prevent the spread of the virus and possible locla lockdowns.

There has also been one more COVID-19 death reported in the past 24 hours.
Reporting data on deaths can be problematic and difficult because there are different sources that this information is pulled from and it’s not accurate to sum hospital deaths with care home deaths, for example, as deaths occurring in the hospital may not necessarily relate to a Warrington resident.
Warrington Borough Council confirmed earlier this week that seven new cases had been confirmed at two local care homes.
There have been no new deaths at Warrington Hospital in the past 24 hours and now new cases reported there in the last 72 hours which suggests the new cases are care home or community testing related.

Across the UK the daily number of COVID-19 associated UK deaths was 55, taking the total number of deaths to 46,566.
The daily number of lab-confirmed UK cases was 758 taking the total number to 309,763.
