Seven new COVID-19 cases confirmed in Warrington


SEVEN new cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Warrington in the last 24 hours according to the latest figures from Public Health England.

A total of 1,352 people have now tested positive in the Warrington area which equates to 643.8 per 100,000 population.
It follows three consecutive days with no reported new cases. It is understood the seven new cases relate to two local care homes.
Sadly the first death in nearly a month was also recorded at Warrington Hospital on Wednesday.

In total, 137 people have now sadly died at Warrington Hospital although Overall inpatient numbers remain in single figures.
The hospital continues to be the lowest Covid-related in-patient mortality rate for all acute hospitals in the north west.
Meanwhile the latest seven-day infection rate for the town also remains one of the lowest in the north west.
There has been an average of 203 coronavirus tests a day in Warrington with 192 cases reported through the Test and Trace tool.
A total of 19,317 residents have been tested in the community.
