FIVE fire crews were called out late last night to tackle a blaze at commercial premises on the Barleycastle Trading Estate at Appleton Thorn.

At 23:39 last night Five fire engines were mobilised – one from Birchwood, one from Stockton Heath, one from Lymm, one from Ellesmere Port and one from Warrington and an aerial appliance from Lymm.
Crews attended to reports of large amounts of smoke coming from a building on Lyncastle Way in Warrington.
Wearing four breathing apparatus, crews used a main covering jet and two hose reels to tackle the flames.

Once the fire was contained crews accessed the commercial unit and began damping down.
They then checked for hot spots.
A hose reel has also been used on a small pocket of paper smoldering.
