FINAL arrangements are coming together for Warrington Male Voice Choir’s first ever virtual concert on 15 August 2020, with YouTube being the ‘venue’ and with the virtual curtain going up from 3pm.
Since going into lockdown the choir have held virtual rehearsals and done virtual performances, so a virtual concert was the obvious next stage. The concert will feature a message from Patron Terry Waite CBE and performances by the choir, including two with the choristers in full uniform for those supporters who have missed seeing them live. All the concert content will have been filmed during lockdown, making it a truly virtual concert.
As well as being a virtual concert, it is also being used as a fundraiser for the choir. Over the years, even during lockdown, the choir has raised money for a great many charities. However, like many others in the performing arts, the choir hasn’t performed live in front of a paying audience since the lockdown started. The choir’s hoping that, once the concert is released on 15 August, viewers will enjoy it and consider making a donation – however large or small – to choir funds, via the choir’s Just Giving page.
The choir has produced a short trailer for the event, featuring Chairman and concert host Bob Williams, which is now showing on YouTube – see below.
