LEAGUE cricket gets under way in the Warrington area today (Saturday) – but Lymm Oughtrington Park have already sampled “lockdown cricket.”
Last weekend the Oughtrington Lane Club had three games – one intra-club warm-up match and two friendlies, one against Marple at home and one against Kingsley away.
However, early morning rain and a gloomy weather forecast made it seem likely that local cricketers would have to wait another week before actually playing!
The picture shows socially distanced players holding copies of the many signs they have posted around the pavilion and the grounds to help keep players and match officials safe.
Lymm play in the UKFast Cheshire League and will take part in a shortened season which will last until the end of September.
