Police investigate suspected arson attack at Padgate

POLICE are investigating a suspected arson attack on a portacabin on Green Lane, Padgate, which caused local road closures while firefighters tackled the blaze.

Two fire engines attended, one from Warrington and one from Birchwood after Firefighters were called following reports of a fire involving a portable cabin on Green Lane shortly before 7.30pm last night.
On arrival the crew found one cabin well alight.
Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used two hose reel jets to extinguish the fire.

Road closures were in place on Green Lane at the junction of Padgate Lane and Whitchurch Close.
The crews remained on scene for around one hour and 20 minutes.
It is believed that this fire had been started deliberately.
