Firefighters rescue man from lift at Grappenhall and tackle suspected arson attack

FIREFIGHTERS helped rescue a man trapped in a lift at a property in Grappenhall and also tackled a suspected arson attack at Padgate last night.

A crew from Stockton heath attended at the property on Victoria Road, Grappenhall at around 9.20pm
Victoria Road, Warrington.
Firefighters were called following reports that a man was stuck in a lift.
On arrival the crew managed to free the man and pass him into the care of paramedics.

Meanwhile in another incident firefighters from Lymm were called out to a suspected arson incident on Long Lane just before 9.30pm.
On arrival the crew found wooden fencing and astro turf well alight.
One hose reel jet was used to extinguish the flames.
The crew then damped down the area.
It is believed that this fire had been started deliberately.
