Disability charity organise virtual fundraiser

WARRINGTON Disability Partnership is looking for people to sign up for their 5km challenge as the infamous ‘Walk in the Park’ goes virtual!

At this time of year, the team at Warrington Disability Partnership are usually extremely busy organising a packed programme of fundraising events, as well as attending many local community events. This year, due to the current pandemic there was no alternative other than to cancel these events.
As you can imagine, as a charity, WDP rely heavily on income from fundraising events to enable them to support local disabled people, their families, friends and carers. The team have developed a new and exciting way for people to support them to raise funds, the ‘Virtual Walk in the Park 2020’.
Throughout July and August, participants can join in with this virtual event on a day of your choice. You can walk, push, jog, run or even cycle for at least 5km, all at your own pace and wherever you want to (in a park, around your local area, even in your garden). Entry costs just £8, everyone who takes part and completes at least 5km will receive a certificate and medal upon completion – the first 100 entries are guaranteed an engraved 2020 medal.

To register for the event online, please visit https://www.disabilitypartnership.org.uk/events/walkinpark.shtml. Alternatively, you can ring the WDP Switchboard on 01925 240064.
If you can’t join in with the event, there are other ways to support the event and help to raise funds for the charity via www.justgiving.com/fundraising/walkinthepark2020
All proceeds will go to Warrington Disability Partnership (Registered Charity Number 1113597)
