SIX people from Warrington were discovered setting up camp for the night in a nature reserve at Macclesfield Forest by Cheshire Police Rural Crime Team

The encampment was found when the Rural Crime Team were checking forests, lakes, open areas and heritage sites all weekend with colleagues from across the Constabulary.
Officers ensured the area was left clear of rubbish and no fires had been set.
The campers were evicted as part of “Op Shire” which is a real concerted effort to tackle the issues that are beginning to appear in the countryside during lockdown.
