FIREFIGHTERS alerted police to investigate a suspected deliberate fire in Orford Park, Warrington, last night.
One fire crew from Warrington responded to reports of a fire in the open at Orford Park at 21:37 last night.
The small fire was near the park building and the crew used a backpack to extinguish the flames.
Police colleagues were notified due to it being a suspected deliberate ignition.
It has been one of a number of suspected arson incidents around the town including an attack on play equipment at Victoria Park on Knutsford Road yesterday afternoon.
