Police seek witnesses after car set on fire in woodland

POLICE are seeking witnesses following a suspected arson incident involving a car in woodland at Gorse Covert, Warrington, last night.

Firefighters were called following reports of a car fire in woodland off Gorse Covert Road at 23:19.
On arrival the crew found one car well alight. Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the flames.
The crew then damped down the scene and checked for hotspots.
Firefighters were at the scene for around one hour and 20 minutes.
It is believed that this fire had been started deliberately.
Anyone with information is asked to call Cheshire Police on 101 quoting IML 727044.

In another incident Firefighters were called following reports of a fire in the open on Borrowdale Avenue, Orford at 21:12.
A water back pack was used the extinguish the flames.
