CENTRAL Self Drive, Warrington’s longest established independent vehicle rental company, has adapted to keep the wheels turning during the COVID-19 pandemic.
A whole list of new procedures focusing on safety and hygiene have been introduced at the family business which has been trading for more than 50 years.
Central Self Drive has over 300 vehicles from small cars, 4x4s, buses, vans and 7.5ft trucks with tail lifts. Their core operation is supplying van and car hire/leasing to local businesses.
They also offer fleet management, vehicle repairs and sales.
The following changes have been implemented focusing on customer and staff safety.
1)Moving to contactless/ paperless
*We no longer need a signature on our rental agreements or inspection sheet.
2)Vehicle hygiene
•Vehicles to be cleaned using antibacterial disinfectant
•As and added prevention, we will additionally wipe down all high contact areas of the vehicle with antibacterial wipes before handing over the vehicle to our customers
•Valeters will Wear a new pair of latex gloves for each time we prepare a new hire
•We Will also Wash our hands each time we finish and start a new valet/ vehicle
•We will Use seat covers and remove before handing the vehicle over to our customers
•Change our uniform each day
•Valeters will Wash their hands as soon as you come back to site/ office
•Adhere to all basic hygiene measure as per government advise

5)Office staff working from home – split shifts / teams separated – rental / accounts/ drivers/ workshop
